A Comprehensive plan is how a community plans for its future. It represents a shared vision for the future of a City and a guide on how to bring that vision to life. The planning process that leads to the Comprehensive Plan is meant to be collaborative, engaging, and inclusive of the entire community. We hope you use this website to learn about, contribute to, and stay engaged in the process.
To the right you’ll see the results of our first visioning activity completed by participants during the first public workshop. “Roots” identify what is already great about Schenectady, while “Dreams” are goals for the future for the City.

Timeline
The Comprehensive Plan will be completed in two phases. Phase one of the planning process is heavily focused on robust public outreach to create a community vision and goals. Phase two will be focused on the development of recommendations, strategies, and the implementation framework.
